Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why isn't speech recognition working?

A: Make sure you've granted the required permissions:

If permissions are granted but it still doesn't work, try restarting the app.

Q: How do I switch languages?

A: You can switch languages in two ways:

Q: What is YOLO Mode?

A: YOLO Mode sends all your speech directly to Claude Code for execution. Everything you say becomes a coding instruction. This is powerful but should be used carefully — it will execute commands automatically.

Q: How do I launch apps by voice?

A: Simply say the app name while Ducktor is active. For example, say "Firefox" or "Safari" to launch those apps. You can also trigger macOS Shortcuts by name.

Q: Does Ducktor work on iPhone and iPad?

A: Yes! Ducktor runs on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. On iOS/iPadOS, it connects to a companion service for Claude Code integration.

Q: Can I use Ducktor without Claude Code?

A: Absolutely. Ducktor works as a standalone transcription app. Claude Code integration is optional and only active when you use YOLO mode or the "go"/"do it" voice commands.
